That itself is the first victory. The director has handled such a larger-than-life personality and his background beautifully, without wasting any of his potential. Rajinikanth’s screen presence is awe-inspiring. The comedy sequences are a major strength of the film and reflect the director’s distinctive style.By creating several interesting characters around Rajinikanth and adding layers of intrigue, the director ensures that the film remains entertaining and engaging, without losing momentum.
Although the entire first half moves along with plenty of fun and laughter, the moments that gradually reveal Rajinikanth’s iconic identity, in equal measure, make the theatre erupt with excitement.While this element has appeared in some of Rajinikanth’s earlier films, the director’s strength lies in presenting it here with such intensity and depth, keeping the audience thoroughly engaged without ever making it feel repetitive.Every scene brings something unexpected, and the twists that follow are equally explosive. Anirudh’s electrifying background score adds even more power to the film. He is the film’s second hero and delivers a real treat for fans.Rajinikanth’s natural body language, the unspoken expressions in his eyes, and his crisp, precise dialogue delivery are a joy to watch.
Not a single member of the film’s ensemble cast of major stars has been wasted.The performances of Suraj and Namo Narayana will be talked about for a long time. S. J. Suryah, who has even been praised by Rajinikanth himself as an acting monster, delivers a menacing performance in his formidable role. The family dynamics involving Kalpak and the characters playing his siblings also provide a strong foundation for the story.The theatre erupts with excitement both before and after the interval, with neither half falling short of expectations.All the scenes in the second half are memorable. ஜெய்லர் 1 இன் வெற்றிக்குப்பின், இரண்டரை வருட இடைவெளிக்கு பின்னர், ரஜினி அவர்களின் திரைப்பயணத்தில் முதன் முதலாக ஒரு தொடர் படம்.
கனகச்சிதமான ஒரு திரைக்கதை, நேர்த்தியான காட்சியமைப்பு, நயமான நகைச்சுவை, அதிரடியான திருப்பங்கள் என முதல் பாகத்தை விட இதில் அதிகம் கவனம் செலுத்தி தமிழ் திரை வரலாற்றில் முதன் முதலாக ஆயிரம் கோடி ரூபாய் வசூலை தொடும் அளவுக்கு அனைவரையும் பேச வைத்து விட்டார் இயக்குநர்.
அதுவே முதல் வெற்றி. ஒரு பெரிய ஆளுமையை, அவரது பின்னணியை வீணாக்காமல் அழகாக கையாண்டுள்ளார். ரஜினி அவர்களின் திரை இருப்பு பிரமிப்பு. நகைச்சுவை காட்சிகள் படத்திற்கு பக்க பலம். இயக்குனரின் தனித்துவம்.
பல பாத்திரங்களை ரஜினி அவர்களை சுற்றி படைத்து சுவாரசியம் கூட்டியதால் ஜனரஞ்சகமாக ரசிக்கும்படி தொய்வில்லாமல் செல்கிறது.
முதல்பகுதி முழுவதும் கல கல கலவென நகர்ந்தாலும், சரிக்கு சமமாக ரஜினி அவர்களின் அடையாளத்தை மெல்ல மெல்ல வெளிக்கொணரும் தருணங்கள் அரங்கத்தை அதிர விடுகிறது.
ரஜினி அவர்களின் முந்தைய படங்கள் சிலவற்றில் இது அமைந்திருந்தாலும் இந்தப்படத்தில் மிகவும் உக்கிரமாக ஆழமாக சலிக்காமல் இருக்கும்படி பார்த்து அமைத்தது இயக்குனரின் வலிமை.
ஒவ்வொரு காட்சியும் இது போல எதிர்பாராமல் அமையும்போதும், அதை தொடர்ந்து நடக்கும் திருப்பங்களும் அதிரடி. அனிருத் அவர்களின் அதிரடி பின்னணி இசை மேலும் வலு சேர்க்கிறது. படத்தின் இரண்டாவது நாயகன்.ரசிகர்களுக்கு நல்ல விருந்து. இயல்பான உடல் மொழி, பார்வையில் பரிபாஷைகள், தெளிவான, நறுக்கென வசனங்களை ரஜினி அவர்கள் கையாண்டது ரசிக்கும்படி உள்ளது.
உடன் நடித்த பெரிய நட்சத்திர பட்டாளங்கள் ஒருவரை கூட வீண் செய்யவில்லை.
சுராஜ் அவர்களின் நடிப்பும், நமோ நாராயணா அவர்களின் நடிப்பும் பல காலம் பேசப்படும். நடிப்பு அரக்கன் என ரஜினி அவர்களாலேயே பாராட்டப்பட்ட எஸ் ஜே சூர்யா அவர்களின் மிரட்டலான பாத்திரமும் அவரது சகோதர சகோதரிகளாக வரும் கல்பக் குடும்ப அமைப்புகள் கதைக்கு நல்ல அடித்தளம். இடைவேளைக்கு முன்னர் பின்னர் என்று பாரபட்சமில்லாமல் அரங்கம் அதிர்கிறது.
பின் பாதியில் வரும் காட்சிகள் அனைத்தும் குறிப்பாக முடியும் வேளையில் ரஜினி அவர்களின் தன்னைப்பற்றிய வசனம் கண்டிப்பாக சிறிது யோசிக்க வைக்கும். அத்தனை அம்சங்களையும் கடந்து மனதில் நிற்கும்.
“சினிமா” ஒரு பொழுதுபோக்கு என்றால் அதன் மன்னன் “என்றும்” தான்தான் என்று ஐம்பது ஆண்டுகள் திரைத்துறையில் ஆன பின்னரும் நம்மை உணரவைக்கிறார், ரஜினி அவர்கள்.
திருவிழாவை போல் நாடு, மதம், இனம், மொழி கடந்து கொண்டாடும் ஒரு பெரிய திரை ஆளுமை என்பது நிஜம். அவரை சிறப்பாக கையாண்ட இயக்குநர் நெல்சன் அவர்களுக்கு பாராட்டுகள்.
“என்னை யாருன்னு கேட்டல்ல? அய்யோ…நான் சொன்னா கூட அதை வெளில சொல்ல நீ உயிரோட இருக்க மாட்டன்றத நெனைச்சா வருத்தமா இருக்கு..” என்று சொல்லி தன் முன் பயந்து அலறும் கொடூரனின் வாய்க்குள் “மெஷின் கன்”ஐ நுழைத்து மிக இயல்பாக, உறுதியாக “என் பேர் டைகர் முத்துவேல் பாண்டியன்” என்று சொல்லி சரமாரியாக குண்டுகளை இறக்கி கொல்வது பல அதிரடி காட்சிகளின் ஒரு பதம்.
